Monument record MBC48682 - Linear cropmarks, south east of Brackwell Farm, Nether Winchenden

Linear cropmarks of uncertain date are visible on historic aerial photographs as extant cropmarks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located south east of Brackwell Farm, Nether Winchendon, and centred at SP 472157 212165. Linear cropmarks can be seen in an arable field; in common with other areas in the project, ridge and furrow was visible only as a cropmark in the 1940s which later show cropmarks. It is not clear what the linear features are; they may be deeper furrows from ridge and furrow or they may be former field boundaries. These cropmarks could only be seen on images from one year and no earthworks can be seen on lidar visualisations. (1)

Faint cropmark of a possible rectilinear enclosure of uncertain date visible on aerial photographs taken in July 2010 at SP 7212 1216. Defined by narrow straight ditches on the Ne and SW sides, but the opposing sides are not visible. The NE side has two parallel ditches (2).
