Description
The line of a road of probable medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the east side of the settlement at Cuddington and centred at SP 74215 11305. The line of the road is visible as a wide series of linear earthworks, crossed in places by later drainage ditches and followed by the route of a footpath continuing east towards Cowley Farm visible as field boundaries. The earthworks range in width from 13-40m, probably to cope with softer ground. Similar roads have been mapped in other areas of this project. (1-2)
