Description

An L shaped ditch and banks of probable post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 300m east of the settlement at Ford, Dinton-with-Ford and Upton, and centred at SP 78179 09194. The L shaped ditch is approximately 111x96m in length and approximately 9m wide. There is an inside bank along the internal length and an external bank along the shorter side. This bank and ditch may be a continuation of an older field boundary of possibly even associated with the extraction of coprolites which can be seen to the east. (1-2)
