Description

A possible medieval and/or post medieval pond is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field about 633 metres E of Quainton Railway centre and centred at SP 74740 18939, a curving ditch up to 11 metres wide is about 107 metres SW-N. In the middle of the inside of the bend a small ditch extends WNW for 14 metres. At the south end is a small section of earthwork bank up to 10 metres wide flanks the outside of the bend for 34 metres (1-2).
