Cropmarks of a small curvilinear ditched feature, linear ditches and adjacent pits of uncertain date and function are visible on aerial photographs and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field about 180 metres ESE of Highfields and centred at SP 76280 11349, two opposing J-shaped curving ditches that vary between 1-5 to 2.5 metres wides, form the shape of a bull’s horns in plan view. Surrounding these are a number of undefined macula, ditch sections and pits, forming no discernible pattern. Nearby in the same field are recorded a number of Saxon dated features on the HER, but this is a speculative association based purely on proximity (3-4).
