Description
A probable post medieval windmill mound is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on a field boundary about 375 metres SW of Grange Farm and centred at SP 73165 20678, the circular mound is about 28 metres in diameter. The mound sits atop a block of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation earthworks, so post-dating it. The earthworks of the medieval settlement of Shipton Lee lie immediately to the W (1-3).
