Description

A field boundary of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant cropmarks and earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 300m west of Bridgefoot Farmhouse, Dinton-with-Ford and Upton, and centred at SP 77304 09566. A linear cropmark of a probable field boundary can be seen as a cropmark on the north side of a watercourse and an earthwork on lidar visualisations to the south of the watercourse. It appears to align with a plough headland/field boundary further north, within the same modern field, recorded with the ridge and furrow field systems within the parish. This field boundary appears to be on the Ordnance Surveyors’ Drawing of Aylesbury but is not on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 mapping. (1-5)
