Description

A road of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks/levelled earthworks/cropmarks and was/were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located west of Haddenham and centred at SP 72776 08205. This road continues the line of Station Road to the west across the fields towards the turnpike road which became the A418 (Aylesbury Road). The parish was inclosed in 1834 and the roads were likely reorganised at that time. The road can be seen on the Ordnance Surveyors’ Drawing for Aylesbury from 1813-14 and is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs and as low earthworks on lidar visualisations. (1-
