Description

A post medieval drainage system or water meadow is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located across fields on the SE facing bank of a meandering watercourse about 1070 metres SW of Watbridge Farm and centred at SP 71506 13439, a system of parallel curvilinear ditches up to 4 metres wide extends across an area about 370 metres SW-NE and 40 metres NW-SE. On aerial photographs taken in 2023 and recent remote sensing data, all the ditches remain visible (1-3).
