Description

Drainage ditches of medieval/post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the north side of watercourse, Bishopstone, Stone with Bishopstone with Hartwell and centred at SP 80862 09991. Drainage ditches between areas of ridge and furrow earthworks, tapering towards a point in the south corner of the field, visible as earthworks on historic aerial photographs and still visible on lidar visualisations. Underlying solid geology is Gault Formation Mudstone. (1-2)
