Description

5 socketed celts of plain character found together. Lithographed by Mr Edward Stone (B2).
Probable hoard of dealer in bronze celts. A hoard of five plain, socketed bronze axes was found on Lodge Hill (SP 731166) in 1855. The type dates from Middle-Late Bronze Age (B4).
Carps Tongue (Ewart Park phase) hoard of 5 socketed axes 'Waddesdon Hoard' LBA 3 (O'Connor chronology)(B8).
