Description

A probable medieval and/or post medieval building platform is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located along a field boundary about 145 metres SE of (former) Upper Blackgrove and centred at SP 77501 18565, a rectangular earthwork platform is about 21 x 8 metres, surrounded by a ditch up to 4 metres wide. On recent remote sensing data dated 2019, the earth platform remains visible though appears to have been much denuded (1-2).
