Description

Site of a medieval cemetery. 75 burials were excavated within 34 grave pits. The irregular layout and number of burials which appear to have their hands tied behind their back, suggests this was a miscreant cemetery. Two in situ buckles were recovered. One spot-dated to the late Roman or early medieval period, the other as medieval. Radiocarbon dating of one burial provided a 13th century date (B1).
