Description

Drainage ditches of probable post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 480m east of the shrunken settlement at Sedrup, Stone with Bishopstone and Hartwell, and centred at SP 80513 11654. On the 1940s photographs these narrow ditches cross clear earthworks of ridge and furrow in a field next to the hamlet of Sedrup and then join with further ditches around the areas of ridge and furrow. By 2003 the earthworks appear to have been partly levelled and by 2023 construction of HS2 has affected what remains.(1-3)
