Description
A possible civilian air raid shelter of World War II date is visible on historic aerial photographs as extant buildings and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the west side of a factory (Cubitt Car Factory), south of Bicester Road, Aylesbury and centred at SP 81171 14313. A flat roofed single storey building, of similar appearance to two further sites of similar buildings close to factories, can be seen adjacent to a factory with a camouflage painted roof, on the south side of Bicester Road. It is still present in 1950, not clear in 1961 but gone by 1971.(1-4)
