Description

Four or five possible air raid shelters of World War II date are visible on historic aerial photographs as extant buildings and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located east of Southern Street, Aylesbury, and centred at SP 81420 14428. Five single storey, flat roofed buildings, with one possibly joined by a another to make a U shaped building, are visible on aerial photographs from the 1940s next to a factory on Southern Road. These buildings are mostly gone by 1950. (1-2)
