Description

A drainage ditch or former field boundary of post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 450m west of Elmbrook Farm, Great and Little Kimble cum Marsh, and centred at SP 81071 09131. This ditch is approximately 81m in length and is not shown on historic mapping as a boundary, only a line of a few trees. It may be a remnant of an earlier boundary or a drainage ditch that joins in to a network of ditches and field boundaries. Modern land use is ley pasture and the field has been ploughed almost level by 2003 aerial coverage; the ditch is visible only as a very slight earthwork on lidar visualisations. (1-2)
