Description

Roman settlement activity identified during excavation. The settlement was located on slightly higher ground. Finds of iron slag may indicated industrial activity within the vicinity. Eight inhumations were placed within an enclosure. Four creamtions were also found, with two located outside of the enclsoure. Two wells or dew ponds were identified. Both contained planks and other timbers. An antler rake was also recovered from the well in Field 7 (B1).
