  • DRAINAGE DITCH (Post-Medieval - 1540 AD to 1798 AD)

Description

Drainage ditches of probable post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 320m north east of All Saints Church, Buckland, and centred at SP 89068 12626. These ditches cross a field called Aston Meade on a map from 1592, reproduced in the Conservation Area documentation. Modern land use appears to be grass and the earthworks appear to have been ploughed at some point in the past. (1-3)
