Description
A post medieval drainage system is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located across meadows adjacent the north bank of the River Thame and centred at SP 85597 17318, a sinuous ditch extends about 1,060 metres parallel with the river. Perpendicular to this are several interconnecting linear ditches that extend and drain to the river. On aerial photographs taken in 2023 and recent remote sensing data, the drainage system remains extant (1-3).
