Description

A possible circular mound of uncertain date and function is visible on remote sensing data as an earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on a field boundary about 220 metres SE of Hardwick Hill Farm and centred at SP 81369 19768, a very shallow earthwork circular mound is about 34 metres in diameter. Aerial photographs taken in 1947 show that this field was covered in medieval/post medieval ridge and furrow cultivation at that time, though the mound is not visible (1-2).
