Description
A circular mound of uncertain date and function is visible on remote sensing data as a very low earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on a field boundary about 164 metres W of Fairfields and centred at SP 83654 18793, a circular mound is about 28 metres in diameter. Its function and date are unknown and is so plough levelled as to be almost imperceptible, so may be a funerary mound dating from the Bronze Age to the Roman periods (1).
