Description

A probable medieval hollow way is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as an earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field behind houses S of the A418 road about 250 metres SSW of St James Church and centred at SP 83567 15031, a 7.5 metres wide linear ditch extends 195 metres SE from the moated site at Bierton between two blocks of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation earthworks. On aerial photographs taken in 2023 and recent remote sensing data, the ditch remains visible (1-3).
