Description
A probable Roman square ditched enclosure is visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field about 350 metres ESE of The Beeches and centred at SP480962 22483, a square ditch up to 4 metres wide encloses an internal area about 18 metres WSW-ENE and 18 metres SSE-NNW. A cluster of nearby find spots suggest that this enclosure is of Roman date (1).
Faint cropmarks of a small rectilinear enclosure of uncertain date visible on aerial photographs at SP 8097 2251 (2).
This record includes National Record of the Historic Environment Information provided by Historic England on 4 June 2025 licensed under the Open Government Licence (3).
