Description

A section of post medieval road is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located immediately adjacent Willow Brook Farm and centred at SP 83044 20885, a slightly sinuous ditch about 13 metres wide extends ESE from Bushmead Road for about 235 metres. The 1813 Ordnance Surveyors Drawing depicts the course of road extending along the same course towards Norduck Farm at that time, though it is not shown on the 1880s dated 1st Edition OS map. This appears to be a short section of this much longer road. On recent remote sensing data, the feature remains visible (1-4).
