Description
An Iron Age and/or Roman rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in the corner of a field about 475 metres WNW of Hardwick Hill Farm and centred at SP 81659 20087, a rectilinear ditch up to 1.5 metres wide encloses an internal area about 23.5 metres WNW-ESE and 16.5 metres SSW-NNE. The ESE facing side of the enclosure is open. Immediately adjacent its WNW facing side is an irregularly shaped macula about 6 metres in diameter at its widest point that may be associated (1).
