Description

A bank and parallel ditches of possible medieval/post medieval date are visible on remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located at north of Astonhill Lodge, Aston Clinton, and centred at SP 89058 10151. Short lengths of the ditch are visible, crossed by later paths and a road, and the bank runs parallel to these ditches, approximately 18m to the north west. None of these features are shown on Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 mapping and they are clear only on lidar visualisations where modern land use is woodland. (1-4)
