Description

Pollardswood Grange is shielded from the road by a curved and thatched gatehouse (B3).
Pair of curved vernacular-style gate lodges with a central covered gateway giving access to the drive to Pollardswood Grange. 1 1/2 storeys, of colourwashed brick with a decorative brick or tile band at eaves level, and a single thatched roof, hipped on the left side. The left-hand lodge has a single central chimney stack, an off-centre triple paired casement window with wooden sill to the ground floor on the front, an off-centre small two-light casement window with wooden sill on the side, and a central thatched dormer in the roof with round-headed 4-light casement window with a decorative thatched 'apron' below. The right-hand lodge has a pair of central chimney stacks above a central dormer (matching the left-hand dormer), which is above a triple paired casement window (matching that on the left-hand. Both lodges have rear entrances (B4).
