Type and Period (1)

  • DITCH (Iron Age to 5th Century Roman - 800 BC to 409 AD)

Description

Geophysics anomalies indicate linear ditches, curvilinear ditches, and ring ditches of possible Iron Age to Roman date (B2).
The evaluation identified two concentrations of features around trenches 11, 12, and 17, with some outlying features. Pottery evidence suggests the features date from the late Iron Age to Roman periods. These generally correspond with the anomalies identified by the geophysics survey (B3).
