Description

Drainage ditches of post medieval/modern date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in the parish of Kingsbrook, Bierton with Broughton, and centred at SP 86120 14699. This network of drainage ditches is cut across fields where no ridge and furrow earthworks have been mapped, on level ground where the underlying geology is Gault Formation and Upper Greensand Formation mudstone, siltstone and sandstone and the soils are clayey with impaired drainage.
