Description

Lynchets of probable medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 600m south of Lodge Farm, Aston Clinton, and centred at 89669 10594. These lynchets are on a chalk slope, covered by scrubby woodland in 1945, on the edge of a golf course; modern land use remains the same. These measure between 1.5-3m across at their largest. Further lynchets remain on nearby slopes on the Chilterns escarpment. (-2)
