Description

Lynchets of probable medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on Aston Hill, Aston Clinton, and centred at SP 88831 10456. The lynchets run north-south along the chalk slope, partly obscured by landscape features in the Chiltern Forest Golf Club. Further areas of Lynchets are recorded around the golf course and Aston Hill. A possible former woodland boundary is also within the area of the lynchets. (1-3)
