Description
Iron Age to Roman ditch identified in Trench 44. The ditch measured 1.25m wide and 0.47m deep. It contained a single fill of dark brown grey silty clay. One sherd of wheelthrown Southern British ‘Belgic’ grogtempered ware (1st century AD) was recovered from the fill. Late Iron Age or Early Roman transitional period. One undated pit and an undated gully were identified in the same trench (B1).
