Description
A possible pleasance of medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located approximately 370m south west of the motte and bailey at Weston Turville (MBC3201) and centred at SP 85788 10100. The pleasance shows as a trapezoidal earthwork measuring 45x60m at its largest with internal ditches and a central subrectangular ditch. Water channels connect to a watercourse for supply and drainage. Earthworks of a post medieval watermeadow and a drainage ditch overlie the earthworks of the pleasance. Land use is pasture and trees have been planted across the earthworks. (1-4)
