Description
Former field boundaries of possible medieval/post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located north of Hengrove Wood, Aston Clinton, and centred at SP 89677 08720. Field name evidence records one of the fields here as ‘footpath close’ so one of the features may be a path, rather than a field boundary. Land use in 1945 was a pasture field and this remains unchanged on modern aerial photographs. (1-3)
