Description
Two ditches of possible medieval/post medieval date are visible on remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was/were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in Bradnidge Wood, Aston Clinton, and centred at SP 89718 09352. Two linear ditches, parallel to the outer boundary of the woodland on the eastern side, they are perpendicular to and cut through the earthworks of the lynchets in the woodland. . They are inside the boundary for the Dancersend SSSI, noted for unimproved chalk grassland, scrub, coppiced and regenerating woodland and plantations. All historic mapping available to this project shows the area as woodland and modern landuse continues as a nature reserve with access pathways. (1-3)
