Description

TWO COINS, A SESTERTIUS OF ANTONIUS PIUS (01:000)AND A SESTERTIUS OF COMMODUS (02:000) FOUND BY MR B BURGOYNE (B1-5).



A sestertius of Antoninus Pius and a sestertius of Commodus, found in 1963 by Mr B Burgoyne on the surface of his garden at 14 Criss Grove,Gold Hill Common, are now in the County Museum. (Acc No 37-37 63). (Sited to SU 99379016 from OS 1250) (B3).

The precise find spot of the Roman coins was pointed out on the groundby Mrs B Burgoyne at SU 99389016. They were found in spoil from a bedding trench of a hedge (B7).
