Description

Dimensions - Length 850m.
Plan Form - Linear.
This stretch poorly preserved but quite distinct. Ditch on S side, line of bank visible & marked by ground rising abruptly in hedge (Cholesbury) & field N of lane (Drayton Beauchamp), where bank is 1m high, though ditch lost under trackway. To S bank covered in shrubs (B1-4).
Scheduled Ancient Monument No.35344, Scheduling updated February 2004 (B3).
Watching brief at 1 Bridleway, Cholesbury by Network Archaeology in February 2000 in close proximity to line of Grim's Ditch failed to reveal any associated activity (B15).
2 profiles across earthwork recorded by Network Archaeology in February 1999 (B18).
Included in English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register 2009. Condition described as 'Generally satisfactory but with significant localised problems' with the principal vulnerability from arable ploughing and trend as declining (B28).
