Description

The late Saxon ditch, aligned north to south, is likely part of a late Saxon boundary between two areas of Saxon activity at Fort End and Townsend. It appears to have fallen out use around the 11th century. One quarry pit was dated to 12th-13th centuries, 7 others were undated. Two limestone surfaces likely date to the 19th and 20th centuries (B1).
