Description
A chalk pit of probable post medieval/modern date is visible on remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the east side of Boddington Camp, Halton Woods, Halton, and centred at SP 88719 08106. The pit is sub circular and approximately 8m across; it is cut in to Holywell Nodular Chalk Formation, mainly used for flint and lime. Land use in 1945 shows woodland and modern land use is woodland.
