Description
Two chalk pits of probable post medieval/modern date are visible on remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the east side of Boddington Camp, Halton Woods, Halton, and centred at SP 88487 08017. The pits are sub circular and approximately 6-8m across; they are cut in to Lewes Nodular Chalk, mainly used for flint and lime. Land use in 1945 shows woodland and modern land use is woodland. (1-4)
