Description
A subcircular hollow of uncertain date and function is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as an earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in fields about 440 metres NW of Lower Wingbury Farm and centred at SP 87275 21236, the hollow is about 21 metres in diameter at its widest point, covering an area of about 292 square metres. It may be a post-medieval extractive pit. On recent remote sensing data, the feature is visible as a shallow earthwork (1-2).
