Description
A subcircular hollow of uncertain date and function is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as an earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in fields about 620 metres SE of the Old Gymnasium and centred at SP 86359 21656, the hollow is about 41 metres in diameter at its widest point, covering an area of about 831 square metres. It may be a post-medieval extractive pit. On recent remote sensing data, the feature is visible as a shallow earthwork (1-2).
