Description

Two circular hollows of uncertain date and function are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as and were mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in fields about 620 metres SW of Old Park and centred at SP 86913 22149, a circular hollow is about 56 metres in diameter, covering an area of 2,506 square metres. Some 96 metres to the SW and centred at SP 86850 22088, a slightly subcircular hollow is about 58.5 metres in diameter at its widest, covering an area of 2,201 square metres. On aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data, the features are still visible as shallow earthworks (1-3).
