Description
A road of probable medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located north of Wellwick Farm, Ellesborough and centred at SP 85143 08248. Wellwick Farm is sited on the boundary between Wendover and Ellesborough and is a 17th century farmhouse where a Romano-British cremation burial was found by a metal detectorist in 2000 (MBC22880). The road is visible as sinuous ditches, approximately 8m apart, on the north side of the farm buildings leading north towards the road to Nash Lee Road, Ellesborough. (1-3)
