Description
Geophysical survey carried out by MOLA Northampton in March 2020 and March 2021 identified an intense magnetic anamoly comprising two lobes separated by a central spur. The western lobe has a more regular shape and more consistently intense anomaly than the eastern lobe. The central spur is weaker and distincly irregular in shape. The anomaly appears to be thermo-remnant (caused by burning) rather than ferrous. Interpretted as a pair of kilns or furnaces with a trail of raked-out debris extending downslope. Another possibility is a structure exposed to high temperatures through an accidental fire. See report for detail (B1).
