Dimensions - Length 164mm, Width 80mm.
POLISHED GREENSTONE CELT OR HATCHET (B1).
POLISHED FINE-GRAINED DARK GREEN-GREY STONE. SLIGHTLY FLATTENED SIDES. SLIGHT SIGNS OF WEAR (B2-3).



A polished green stone celt or hatchet, 6 1/2" by 3 1/4" was found in the Thames at Taplow Mills (SU 904820) in 1883. (1)

Taplow Mills. Polished fine-grained dark green-grey stone. Slightly flattened sides. Slight signs of wear. L 164 mm. W 80 mm. T 37 mm. Wt 710 gm. British Museum (94.12-10.34).
