GRAVEL PIT AT NGR ONCE BELONGED TO ALMONDS. NOW DISUSED (B2).
E OF LENT RISE PITS IS ALMOND'S PIT, OF WHICH HAYCOCK'S PIT (CASS 01545) WAS EXTENSION (B3).


(SU 9281) Palaeoliothic implements from the general area of Lent Rise comprise 120 handaxes, 4 roughouts, 2 cores, 54 retouched and 66 retouched flakes, 6 worked fragments and 3 Levallois flakes; although many of these must belong to Almond's Pits (See SU 98 SW 8).
Distribution:- Mostly in the British Museum, but some in Aylesbury, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Hereford, Leeds and Oxford University Museums (B9).
Bucks County Museum Pa Index lists 162 handaxes, 107 flakes and 4 cores from Lent Rise, Burnham, including the Lacaille, Treacher, Wellcome and Almond collections (B12).
Those listed are now in the British Museum, Bucks County Museum (Acc Nos 34.25 - 70.25 and 11.54) Oxford University Museum and Uxbridge Public Library. (Not listed are those implements in Bournemouth, Eton College, Hereford, Leeds City, or Birmingham Museumsor in private hands).
