UNTIL 1937 MR G W ALMOND REMOVED GRAVEL FROM THE PIT NEAR HIS HOUSE. GRAVEL ILL-SORTED: LOWER PART HAS MANY LARGE FLINT NODULES & ERRATICS (B1).
GRAVEL PIT AT NGR ONCE BELONGED TO ALMONDS. NOW DISUSED (B2).
E OF LENT RISE PITS IS ALMOND'S PIT, OF WHICH HAYCOCK'S PIT (CASS 01545) WAS EXTENSION (B3).
