Description
Two medieval and/or post-medieval extractive pits are visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located immediately adjacent Manor Farm and centred at SP 65474 34754, two circular pits aligned SSW-NNE and separated by 10 metres are about 132 and 164 square metres in area. Still visible in 1961, on aerial photographs taken in 2019, expansion of the farm shows that these features are no longer visible (1-3).
