Description
Two medieval and/or post-medieval platforms are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field east of Preston Bissett village and centred at SP 66161 29808, two rectangular earthwork platforms are bounded on one side by a ditch. An earthwork platform is about 25 x 9 metres, with long side aligned SW-NE. Immediately NE and at right angles, is a second rectilinear earthwork platform about 25 x 13 metres. The function of these platforms is uncertain (1-2).
